Laser for Pain

Easing Your Pain

Pain is the #1 reason for missed work or school. Many accepted therapies have their own side effects and carry their own risk profiles. Laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive and cost-effective way to manage painful conditions allowing people to get back to their active, productive lifestyles in a shorter amount of time.

Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT or Laser) has none of the side effects of other pain reducing therapies: no peptic/gastric ulcers from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, no narcotic dependences and no other complications.

A Laser is a Class 3 medical device that generates light through a process called optical amplification. These divergent beams of light are most effective for pain reduction at the 635mW red wavelength.

How does it work? The low intensity red wavelength has the ability to penetrate skin and soft/hard tissue. After the light penetrates the skin, it creates photo-stimulation of the mitochondria, or power houses of each cell in the body. LLLT can stimulate creation of new blood cells and increase collagen, also known as the tendons and ligaments. These low doses of red light have demonstrated the ability to heal skin, nerves, tendons, cartilage and bones. It has been proven in clinical trials to have good effect on pain, inflammation and tissue repair.

Applied 2-3 times per week for several weeks results in reduction of inflammation, pain relief and accelerated tissue regeneration. Laser treatments can accelerate the body’s ability to heal itself.
